Swansea boss Michael Laudrup, with next Sunday’s Capital One Cup final in mind, made seven changes to his side and the Reds took full advantage, with Suarez outstanding. Suarez won a 34th-minute penalty following Kemy Agustien’s unnecessary challenge.
