It’s hard for any true football fan right now – especially the ones that support Manchester United – to not have heard of Jadon Sancho. The England international star has risen to fame in the last couple of years and has also made a name for himself as one of the best young attacking talents in world football. However, despite all of that, his future has been up in the air in the last couple of months.
The former Manchester City academy star is currently with the England national team at the Euros but has not featured in any of the Three Lions’ games in the competition so far. England head coach Gareth Southgate’s decision to not play Sancho has sparked mixed reactions from fans and pundits in recent times as they have continued to question why a manager would leave such a brilliant attacking talent on the bench even when the team needs that cutting edge to create chances and score goals.
According to Southgate, his decision to leave Sancho on the bench is because he has too many attackers in the team. Former Arsenal star Mesut Özil has now weighed in on the topic after revealing that Sancho’s talent and attacking prowess should not be left to be wasted on the bench as he called on Southgate to give the winger a chance to showcase his skills.
